10, 000 Hindus "invite" the Archbishop of Canterbury to issue an apology for "cultural genocide and spiritual arrogance".
Nig Nog, Paki, Wog, Blackie and N**ger were the words which "helped" a whole generation of people of colour "to integrate" in the United Kingdom of the 70's and 80's. By the 90's the hatred had become "hidden contempt" and by the end of the century morphed into "racism without the racists" ie institutionalised and systemised.

We all know how frustrating it can be when people aren't listening to us. Unfortunately, being immigrants can sometimes mean it's even harder to have our opinions and ideas taken seriously by others. This can be very difficult to deal with, especially when you need to communicate often with parliamentatrians, statutory authorities, health and social care professionals.
We have seen time and time again how our rights have been denied to us, how the boundaries which serve as protection are eroded and acts if intellectual, emotional and physical violence inflicted, seemingly without legal or moral restitution. These are sysmptoms of Advocacy failure. We Hindus exist in a world where adversarial advocacy often wins the day, not moral or ethical right.
Time and time again we find that "they" don't always offer us the opportunities and choices we have a right to expect, and its the default assumption of non-hindu power nbases to assume that Hindus dont matter.
At GHF we recognise that this must change, on a global level and that is the level at which we seelk to make alliances and act for change.
The role of an advocate depends on any situation and the support we need or want. But they are there to support our choices.
